IT'S often women who run to the hairdressers after a break-up, so we're a bit stunned to see Zac Efron with a new barnet now he's a singleton.

Heartthrob Zac Efron, who's split from Vanessa Hudgens but was spotted making a cheeky go to to her house yesterday, showed off a new 'do on the Folks's Selection Awards 2011.

The Charlie St Cloud actor debuted a very brief crop style as he arrived for the star-studded occasion in LA, wanting dapper in a tailor-made suit.

Luckily, the 23-year-outdated, who picked up the favourite film star under 25 award, undoubtedly does not need to worry about how his fans will take his new look.

Taking to the stage to gather his gong, the hunk was met by deafening screams - a sure-signal his followers approve of the haircut.

We reckon we're in settlement with them too - particularly since his short back and sides makes him look older and thus more prone to go off as our beau then our child brother.

Maybe it would work on Vanessa too - those two were SO cute together.
