After more than a few tries in 2007, Nicole Scherzinger is readying her first proper solo album. The Pussycat Doll and perennial featured guest revealed earlier this year that it was her decision not to release Her Name is Nicole, even after her longtime label Interscope Records spent a fortune hiring in-demand producers like Will.I.Am and Polow da Don to work on it.

The new as-yet-untitled effort was produced by RedOne and reportedly includes collaborations with the likes of Jay Sean and Ne-Yo. A Joseph Kahn-directed video for "Poison," the first single, featuring Scherzinger in a skin-tight ninja get-up and utilizing dance moves and kicks she no doubt perfected on Dancing with the Stars, premiered Friday, and at Thursday night's Rocky Horror Picture Show tribute to benefit Painted Turtle, one of Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Camps, she could barely contain her enthusiasm.

So where does that leave a possible judgeship on The X-Factor, as rumored last month? "I don't know about X-Factor," Scherzinger told THR on the Rocky arrivals line at the Wiltern Theater. "I’m working on my album right now, my video comes out in Europe tomorrow, I’m excited about touring and stuff. If Simon [Cowell] asked me, I’d have to sit down and really think about it, because it would be a really big commitment."

Scherzinger, who played Columbia in the charity production and sang the film's iconic opening song "Science Fiction Double Feature," guest judged on the British version of the program and was well-received by viewers and producers alike—something the makers of Men in Black 3 are counting on: they cast Scherzinger, alongside Betty White, for what she described as "a small villain role" where "I say a couple of lines and then I die."

She's not ruling out future reality show stints, either. Should IGA head and new American Idol perma-mentor Jimmy Iovine come calling, Scherzinger said she's game for a guest appearance or two. "If it worked out that way, sure."
